Corning Taiwan Joins Customers’ Tree Planting Party

Corning is continuing a sustainability-focused partnership with one of its valued customers in Taiwan.

Employees from Corning Display Technologies Taiwan (CDTT) recently partook in a “Green Party” tree planting event hosted by AU Optronics (AUO), one of Display Technologies’ customers in the region.

AUO has held the Green Party on Arbor Day for the past 12 years, and employees and their families have planted more than one million trees at AUO facilities worldwide. This year, AUO sought participation from its partners in its the supply chain.

“We are more than happy to support AUO in this kind of sustainability initiative,” said Daniel Tseng, president of CDTT, who participated in the event. “Our partnership with customers goes beyond merely business collaboration as Corning is committed to making a positive difference in the communities where we operate.”

AUO and Corning have a history of working together on environmental projects. In 2018, the two companies completed a solar panel project on the rooftops of CDTT Taichung and Tainan. The solar arrays are expected to generate enough renewable energy to meet the annual power needs of 1,000 households in Taiwan.
